Abseiling devices have been developed to descend in a controlled manner along steep surfaces. The device is connected to the user's safety harness and allows them to descend at a controlled speed of 0.9 metres per second. While descending, the user can use their feet to push themselves against the wall. Abseiling is an efficient technique for safe descent after working at height, but can also be a solution to reach hard-to-reach workplaces without the use of scaffolding or cranes. Possible applications include work in industrial environments, the navy and offshore sector or on wind turbines and electricity pylons. In addition, the devices can also be used for rescue purposes. Van Gool supplies abseiling devices from the German manufacturer Ikar. These devices have a robust and compact construction and are extremely dependable. Type HAS has a cable length of 16 or 30 metres; with type ABS it is possible to descend from a height of up to 150 metres
At Van Gool, the safety of you and your people is very important to us. That is why we only work with abseiling devices that comply with the strictest safety requirements. The abseiling devices from Ikar, for example, are all made of high-quality materials; Ikar's ABS model is even resistant to corrosion, moisture, heat and extreme cold. The ABS complies with the European EN-1891 standard. The Ikar HAS complies with EN-341. In addition to supplying the best abseiling devices, we specialise in testing and certifying all your fall protection equipment. Your Ikar devices can even be inspected by inspectors trained by Ikar!
