Start in 1984

When Rien van Gool talks about his company, enthusiasm and involvement take center stage. After working as an accountant and director at Europa Kraanverhuur, he started his own business, Van Gool, in 1984. Forty years later, he still has no regrets.

Rien: "Through contacts with Hoogovens and their demand for lifting equipment, I discovered during my time at Europa what my preference was. In 1984, I seized the opportunity and started a trading company where I could put my heart and soul into it. Over these 40 years, the company has matured with 30 employees, ISO, VCA*, and EKH certifications, and a very broad customer base. I entrusted the general management to Mela Coskun some time ago with full confidence. With 15 years of experience in lifting and hoisting technology, she has earned her stripes."

‘Around 1988, my son Mark started in the workshop. Meanwhile, he has moved up to the position of account manager and property manager. Another striking feature of this story is the employees’ loyalty to their employer. A glance at the workforce shows that in addition to commercial director Pieter van Duijn, who comes at the top of the list with his fourty-three years of service, and Mark, there are more people who can look back on many years of employment. To name a few examples: Aad Hollenberg started in the workshop in 1992, joined by Walter Zuiderwijk and Arjan Bosscher in 1996 and 1999 respectively. Tim Molhoek came to reinforce the office staff in 1997, followed by Sabine Brasser in 1999, Nicolette Derks in 2000, and many others afterwards. 

Suppliers and customers included

Van Gool Hef- en Hijstechniek also proves that the relationship with the staff is not the only one that matters. Business is still being done with suppliers from the very beginning, such as Diepa, Riley or Straightpoint. The same goes for customers such as Tata Steel, Buko, GP Groot, and BAM.

Building the future

We are constantly working on improving and expanding our business through digitalization. We have invested in online certificate management, responsive websites, marketing optimization, and integrated systems to provide customers and suppliers with the necessary information directly.
