Types of lifting slings
Lifting slings are round, continuous lifting straps for lifting heavy loads. There are various types of lifting slings, the best known of which are round slings and slings made of steel wire. Round slings are usually made of polyester, where the colour and label of the sling reflect the work load. These colours are used according to a European colour coding. This type of polyester lifting slings are used, among other things, for bundling materials such as beams. Steel slings, or lifting slings made of steel wire, are used even more often because they are more resistant to mechanical- and weather influences. These slings can be used for a variety of lifting applications by construction and crane companies and the transport and offshore industries. Safety comes first
Because working with heavy loads always involves risks, all our lifting slings have been extensively tested. The polyester slings have a NEN 1492-2 safety certificate and the steel slings comply with ISO 2408:2017. With lifting slings and other lifting- and hoisting equipment, it is important that they are undamaged, strong and safe even after a certain period of time. In order to continue to meet the quality requirements, it is important that they are tested periodically. Van Gool is certified to test, repair and certify all your lifting and hoisting equipment, fall protection and climbing equipment. With our mobile test unit we can do this at your location, so that you can quickly get back to work safely.
