Worm gear winches: safe and reliable
A worm gear winch is an efficient, easy and safe solution for moving heavy loads. There are both electric and hand-operated winches. Our hand-operated worm gear winches are made for hoisting, while most electric winches can both hoist and pull. Worm gear winches differ from spur gear winches in that, as the name suggests, they have a worm gear instead of a gearbox. Because there is a lot of friction loss in this type of system, it automatically brakes when no more force is applied. Our worm gear winches are also equipped with a load-pressure brake, so the braking is divided over two systems. As a result, worm gear winches are considered a safer alternative to gear winches. We supply electric and manual worm gear winches with working loads from 250 kg to 5 tonnes (first stroke).
Certified worm gear winches
As safety is our top priority, we only sell worm gear winches that meet the strictest quality and safety requirements. We have chosen winches from top brands such as Gebuwin and Dromec, which are known for their robust construction and reliable operation. The winches have a minimum safety factor of 4, which means that they have been tested with four times the maximum working load. In addition, all worm gear winches that we supply come with a safety certificate. We repair, test and certify our winches in-house, and can also take care of this for you. In order to limit productivity loss, this can even be done at your location with our mobile test unit!
