NDO - Eddy Current (ECT) inspection lifting eyes

Our inspectors on site

Van Leeuwen Sleufloze Technieken asked us to inspect a drill installation they are going to use in Taiwan. The four lifting eyes of this installation are inspected by our inspectors Aad Hollenberg and Piet van Velzen on site and proof loaded at 17T. They also did a NDT, Eddy Current (ECT) inspection. A normal course of events, right? Some creativity is necessary for this type of inspection. In this case it was decided to place 2 jacks stamped - with a bridge piece - on compression cells from Straightpoint - The Crosby Group. Thanks to this kind of inspections, drilling is safe in Taiwan. Thanks for this nice assignment Rein Jansen of VLST.
